Lost and Found But Damaged

Here's a tragic update. Today at around 2 pm, my mobile phone was damaged. How did it happened? I put my mobile on the car's roof while putting things I bought at Subang Parade inside my car including a pint of Jamoca Almond from Baskin Robbins. Then suddenly the dry ice inside the ice cream's package tore apart the paper bag. It was a chaos moment with the rain and the ice cream thing. I forgot totally of my mobile. It was until about 15 km from the Parade then I realize my mobile, as I knew it won't be on the roof anymore, I turn around and head back to the Parade.

While driving, I prayed silently to God so that I could find my mobile. God answered my prayer, THANK GOD, after 10 minutes of searching, I found my mobile laying in the middle of the road totally smashed up by dozens of vehicles. Lost every single bit of data in it including phone numbers. Yes, I forgot to pray that the mobile be safe. My fault.

Update

During one of the weekend in the fasting month of ramadhan, i went to city-link which is an international air express distribution and logistics services. (www.citylinkexpress.com). The purpose of my visit is to collect a parcel from shaklee which i bought a week before.

Citylink courier drivers failed to deliver the item to my house for the whole week basically because their driver had gone to a wrong house. Even if they reach my address there would be no one in the house.

Despite their failure, they contacted me several times to inform me about the failure and i told them that i would come by to their office.

Finding their office at jalan arkitek, glenmarie is quite painful especially because the road is situated deep in glenmarie industrial area. Luckily i've turned on my garmin gps on my e71. After typing arkitek in search road name, my gps began to guide me to the small hidden road.

next problem is to locate my parcel. The main problem is the guy from citylink who called me did not provide me with any reference number. So when i told me my name and address and the parcel is from shaklee, the women at the counter told me it will be a quite long search because my details are incomplete. I was very lucky after 20 minutes waiting, a guy walk in and talked to the women at the counter, i could recognize he has the same voice that called me and the best thing is he was talking about me and my undelivered parcel. After waiting for more than half an hour, I finally got the parcel.

Last problem is to brave the rain running to my car. What a day and it's about 5 hours before breaking fast.

A View inside the City Link office.

Two days ago, I finally got my hands on my first ever electric shaver which I bought it at SenQ (which is becoming one of the largest electronic shop in Malaysia with plenty of outlets all over the country). The tag price was RM 159 but I got a promotion price of RM 139 plus RM 5 for a 2 year warranty (which is a bit weird because the standard Phillips warranty written on the box was 2 years). The model is Phillips HQ6090 part of the 6000 series.

According to their website, The Philips 6000 shaving series with its great design has been developed for an ultra close shave. The Super lift & cut technology combined with the 3D contour following system guarantees a ultra close shaving result. It has a Dual blade system: first blade lifts, second blade cuts for a comfortable close shave.Shaving time is 40 minutes and recharge time is 1 hour. Mine is rechargeable.

Pana Juicer

Last week, few days before I bought the Combi Stroller, I was at Tesco Extra with my wife and baby Humaira when suddenly my wife had an idea to make some fresh fruit juice for break fast. She managed to persuade me to buy a Panasonic Juicer. So, RM 161 changed hands and we headed back home with a brand new Panasonic MJ-70M Juice Extractor. The difference between using a blender and juice extractor? Juice extractor will remove almost completely the fruit pulp, while an ordinary blendy can't (need to filter it before drinking). Our first juice was a green apple juice which is errr, not so sweet (forgot to put sugar in it).

The Pana Juicer MJ-70M has:-
* Built-in circuit breaker
* Safety lock clamp
* Stainless steel spinner 600ml container
* Brush for efficient cleaning

---- 26th August is the date I bought the juicer-----

Ramadhan and My Baby's new car

Fasting month this year seems to be a challenge this year basically because the weather is bright and sunny. This will cause dehydration. I'm not so sure whether it will go on this way as past experiences shows that it will get wet on the second half of the month. The best thing about ramadhan is the emergence of bazaar ramadhan where various foods being sold for the purpose of break fast. The biggest of course will be at the shah alam stadium but this year I opt not to go there as it will be very congested with people. Instead I'll be going to smaller bazaar ramadhan nearby the stadium such as at TTDI Jaya which has one of the best chicken wing stall. I don't buy much because my wife will do the cooking. We will try to avoid outside food because we had just recovered from diarrhoea last week with both of us been hit twice in a week, which indeed a very painful experience.
During the night, the sight of minaret is always an inviting one for muslims to perform terawih. it's the fourth day of fasting and I'm still waiting for the first annoying sound of loud firecrackers from my neighbourhood.
Yesterday, the RM1199 baby stroller from the Japanese brand Combi was mine. I bought it from Go Go Kidz, Taipan USJ. I bought it with a discounted price tag though. Combi has been making strollers since 1961 in Japan, where they have the number one baby product. The stroller has a full 95 per cent UV protection rating canopy with mesh window and full reclining seat. It's also incredibly light (6.2kg) and has a one-touch opening and closing mechanism perfect for `unco' people like me. Add to that a seat angle adjustment of 125 to 170 degrees, reversible handle, five-point harness, large basket and active suspension and did I mention it was self-standing when folded? Furthermore according to the seller, Combi had beaten Graco and is just under McLaren in terms of quality.

Below are some of the best stroller brands in the world

Sunday Market and The Rising Sun

Waking up early on a Sunnday morning is a good thing to do as there's less traffic to deal with.
I do my groceries at morning markets with plenty of places nearby such as the
Shah Alam Stadium morning market, Section 6 market and the Kg Melayu Subang morning market. I've been to the Sect 16 market and surprisingly found out that prices are almost the same as the Sect 6 market.

The best thing to wake up early is to capture the scene of the rising sun.

The h1n1 virus is frightening Malaysians from day to day. Me and my wife are worried as well especially the danger that it poses to our baby, humaira.
We decided not to bring our baby to public places and if there is a need to bring her out, she will remain inside the car while me or my wife (usually it'll be me) do all the business. Up till today, Malaysia had registered it's 18th death due to H1N1.
I do not know how true it is but a friend of mine told me that a friend of her's working as a doctor told her that to reduce the chance of getting H1N1 is by drinking plenty of water as it can flush out the virus through our urine, so today i already drank two litres of reverse osmosis water.

Enough of the scarry swine flu issue, I just bought a pair of new mobile phone. Originally I wanted to by one for my wife to replace her old N70 but ended up buying one for myself as well.

My wife wanted a decent camera phone as her N70 is only a 2mp camphone and could not be connected to a computer via usb. So i bought her a SE C510 which seems to be a fair camphone with a 3.2 mp, 3g, and can transfer files to a computer via usb. I grabbed myself an E71 Nokia out of curiosity on the Garmin GPS app.It turned out that the e71 has a lot to offer such as wifi and the easiness for me to upload this blog (wrote this with my e71).

Do take note that both camphone can't replace the digital camera and my dslr ! So if you wanna get a camphone that has the same quality as a digicam, buy a digicam!

Below are some pics that i've taken using the SE c510 cybershot phone.

Took this during a broad daylight with great sunshine.

Highway Traffic Congestion

Highway Traffic Congestion is normal in Malaysian Highway especially during peak hours. What's annoying is that those highway users are paying tolls to use the highway, yet end up in a traffic crawl.

I was trapped reached my destination two hours more than usual due to traffic congestion and it happened in a 6 lane highway. The highway authorities must think about solutions because we pay to use the highway. I was very tired that night.

Next chapter is about my baby. She's doing fine, below are some pictures of her.

Update 15 Mei 2009

Baby dah keluar dari NICU pada 13 Mei. Dah balik rumah. Nak dijadikan cerita, masa baby discharge time tu la hujan turun. Selalunya panas terik.

Nama dia Nur Alisha Humaira (welcome to the real world). Berat dilahirkan 3.12kg.

Update 12 Mei 2009

Semalam jam 6 petang, saya membawa isteri saya ke wad ICU untuk melihat baby kami. Simpati saya pada isteri kerana sejak baby kami lahir, dia hanya berkesempatan mencium baby sahaja sebelum baby di bawa terus ke ICU. Saya tengok wajah isteri sungguh excited masa saya tolak wheelchair ke wad ICU.

Sampai di wad NICU, isteri saya terus mendukung baby. Memang nampak raut wajahnya happy sangat.

Kelahiran Anak Sulung Saya

Rupa-rupanya memang sahih lah air ketubannya pecah sedikit.

Saya membisikkan kepadanya 'Insya allah semua akan selamat, dengan izin Allah, let modern medical science do it's job'.

Kami berbual panjang sambil ketawa seolah-olah kami dah setahun tak jumpa.

Selamat Hari Ibu.

Update 10th May 2009 at 2.02 am

Below are updates of me until 10th May 2009.

1. Hot weather won't be bothering me and my wife anymore as we had bought a Panasonic Air Conditioner for our bedroom. Sleep tight again.

2. Sent my wife to the hospital on 11.00 pm Friday 9 May. Her EDD is on the 11th May, but her water bed had broke. On the way the hospital, we saw two separate incident, the first was a near car accident and the second was an Indian gang fight in front of a school near the hospital.

3. My wife had to be admitted due to some complications. I pray hard that both the mother and the baby will be safe. Let modern medical science do it's job.

Birthday ..

Greetings, it's been a while since I last updated my blog. I'm kinda busy right now, my time of browsing the net and online has been reduced. Few things happened to me this month, first of all it was my birthday on the 3rd. My wife treat me to a nice dinner at a seafood in Batu Belah, Klang. I prefer she cook for me but due to her pregnancy, it's wiser to had dinner somewhere else. The dishes were nice and yummy.

I had a few birthday wishes sent to me via facebook and SMS, all were my old schoolmates. I also received a surprise birthday song from my colleagues in the morning of the 3rd.

My wife is nearing to give birth to my first child, though both of us are nervous, but thinking that all people that we knew survive through the ordeal, we are a bit relaxed. Furthermore the modern medical science has improved so much that the chance of survival for the mother and child is higher than the older days. The question is whether to send my wife to a private or government hospital, both has it's pro's and con's.

The weather is strange this month, last 2 weeks we had plenty of rainfall, but this last three days is getting hot as rain started to stop. It was brutally hot today and I had to drink plenty of water. I notice my wife drank a lot of water as well.

I do hope tomorrow we'll have rain, but I'm sure a friend of mine would be dissapointed because he owns a car wash business.

It's hard to please everybody.

Islamic Banking To Lower BFR

PETALING JAYA: All Islamic banks will lower their base financing rate (BFR) and publish new rates individually in line with Bank Negara Malaysia’s further reduction of Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) from 2.50% to 2.00%.

In a statement yesterday, the Association of Islamic Banking Institutions Malaysia (Aibim) said with the lower base financing rate, customers with variable-rate financing facilities have the option of retaining their financing tenure.

This can be done while reducing monthly instalment payments or shortening the tenure while maintaining the original monthly instalment amount.

Visit www.aibim.com for the list of the Islamic banks’ customer service hotlines for more information.

-- Good news indeed. As a customer of one of the Islamic Banking Housing Loan, I greatly welcome the move, although it does not effect too much of my monthly payment, just a difference of RM 60. I received a letter from my bank informing me to pay less monthly, but I'm still paying the original amount before the lower BFR rate being announced. If given any choice to decide, I'll take the shortening the tenure option. I do hope when the economy is growing up again, they won't increase the BFR drastically, because I'm receiving a fixed income that won't increase even if the economy is good, and won't decrease even the economy is worse.

Back Online

Hi, I'm back online again. I've finally moved to my new house which I bought under normal price. It's a small 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house measuring 973 sq feet. It's the one I could afford at this time.

It took me nearly almost 22 days to relocate my home line and my broadband internet from my old rented house to the new self owned house. It's a disappointing experience especially when the company that owns the telephone line and internet promised a 7 day period for the relocation.

I applied at the big Shah Alam TM Point HQ and after that I was given a runaround. After 3 times of calling the 100 Customer Service line and being told that there had been no record of me applying the line relocation, I was so near in breaking my line of anger when someone named Nurin from the TM Processing Unit called my mobile informing me that she will relocate my line but had to give a new number.

The next day, Anuar the TM contractor came by to install my new line and number. He was a nice guy and we had quite a long chat about this TM problem.

Then I had to wait for a few days more and two calls to the 100 Customer Service line, first I talked to Hajar whom refuses to connect me to Nurin (Nurin gave me her extension number and as Nurin knows my problem, I thought that talking to Nurin might be easier as she had settled my first problem). I had to explained the whole story back to Hajar which is for me is a lengthy process as she kept confusing herself between my new line number and my old line number which still in operation. At last she told me that I could call back within 3 working days to check the status.

After 3 working days, I called and a girl named Huda entertained me. Again I had to repeat the same story, and finally I asked her the two questions :-

1. When will my old line be deactivate as I am afraid the new tenant of my old rented house could use it to make phone calls.
2. When will they transfer my internet broadband to my new line.

I also told her that this is my third time calling the 100 line, and I've applied all this since 2nd of February. Again it was the 3 working days call back answer.

The best thing was, around noon someone named Wani called me from the TM Processing department using her own mobile phone and promised me she would look into this matter and at night time, everything was back to normal. My broadband is back in service with my new line while my old line has been deactivated.

There's still some good guys in the TM ....

Malacca

On the 26th January, me and my wife was on our way back from my hometown and decided to stop by at Malacca. It was still in the early morning and because the day was a public holiday, not many people was seen on the streets.

As we were just wandering around the Malacca town, I decided to check on Banda Hilir. I drove my car straight towards the Straits of Malacca when I saw a bridge leading to a piece of land that was built on the straits itself. Me and my wife never been there and our exploration lead us to a mosque built on the sea. It was a beautiful sight and the wind was quite strong.

After that, we drove towards Menara Taming Sari situated near Dataran Pahlawan. Before reaching Menara Taming Sari, we had our breakfast at a Padang restaurant under a bridge. From the restaurant, we could see the famous Eye on Malaysia that was previously situated in KL but now has been shifted to Malacca. It was around 8.15 am and I could see the wheel was spinning.

At first we wanted to board the Menara Taming Sari but the signboard says that the operation only starts at 10 a.m. Menara Taming Sari offers a breathtaking view from 80 meters up. The admission price is RM20 for adults and RM10 for children under 12 years old. (http://www.menaratamingsari.com/).

I could not remember

Lately, my head is full of so many things to do. The outcome is I began to forget a lot of things. Yesterday, I went out with my friends and I left my mobile phone in one of their car. I tried to call my mobile using my wife's but as my mobile was in silent mode, my friend could not hear it. Luckily my friend's number is so easy to remember (019-999999*), so I managed to call and told him that my mobile was in his car.

Then, I forgot whether I had paid my bills. As most of my bills are being paid online using internet banking, I could always retrieve all those electronic records, an advantage of having a proper records management.

Now, as I am writing this, I feel like I 'm suppose to do something tomorrow, but I could not remember what it is. Furthermore, I need to edit this post as there were so many sentence that was left out.. Damn it..

Update of Me

Time has passed since I last visited. I've been so preoccupied with other things that I've forgotten about this blog. Many things ha...
